Dr. Jurgen Tittade explains “Can’t Watch Anywhere Pain”
The latest from Vine

C.W.A.P. is a common condition that affects millions of TV lovers. Those with C.W.A.P. suffer from the false belief that they can watch live television anywhere, anytime they like.

The truth is—they can’t.

It may be their shows aren’t available outside of their home, let alone out of the country. And if there are channels available, they are often not worth watching. Channel-specific apps may only stream in certain regions, or stream so slowly the content is effectively unwatchable. And worst of all, many sufferers downloaded an app from their big cable company to watch TV “anywhere” but then find out they must be “nowhere” because the only TV they can see are old episodes.

If any of these sound familiar to you, you may have C.W.A.P.

Symptoms include:

• Frustration • Feelings of betrayal
• Confusion • Chronic cable fatigue
• Boredom

But there is a cure.

Slingbox delivers your TV and everything on it to any of your devices live. That includes your laptop, tablet, smartphone, Roku, Chromecast and AppleTV. With Slingbox, say goodbye to C.W.A.P and hello to true TV Anywhere.

John

Sports Fan

John’s from Philly and is a huge Eagles fan. HUGE. As a sales exec, he travels a lot for work. Not willing to miss a single game, John purchased the big sports app that promised to play all his local games live. When Opening Day came around, John found himself stuck in Arizona. No worries, right? He had the app. Wrong. The only local game John could watch was the Cardinals. Wrong birds.

John found out what millions of others already know. That to the sports app, “anywhere” really means only somewhere. And now, John has a bad case of C.W.A.P.

Waiting for her kids outside during their practice is fine, but waiting to watch her news isn’t…

Megan

Mom, carpool Queen and local news lover

Meet Megan. Two teenage boys. Wrestling. Chess club. Science camp. She can organize a family schedule like no one’s business. You can often times find Megan in her “on the road” office parked outside of her kids practice.

Wanting to keep herself occupied while her kids are at wrestling practice, Megan downloaded her local station’s news app. You can imagine her frustration when Megan fired up the app to discover that she could hardly watch the news between the constant push notifications and the live stream constantly starting and stopping. Megan was not happy. Not happy at all. Apparently, the station’s definition of “anywhere” is vastly different than Megan’s definition. So she’s left with a minivan full of wrestling singlets and a trunk load of C.W.A.P.

When Mike’s paid cable app crashes, he’s left feeling angry and confused.

Mike

Honey-do-Lister; Throne watcher

Get ‘er done. That’s Mike’s motto. His honey-do list is as long as your arm and he loves it. Change the oil, fix the deck, clean the gutters and walk the dog. You name it, Mike’s on top of it. He’d rather cross something off the list than take a break. That list even includes catching up on his favorite show from his premium cable channel.

One Saturday, Mike was cleaning the garage and wanted to catch up on Thrones. However, every time he launched the app he only saw “Sorry our Servers are busy. We are unable to deliver your requested content”. Crash. Mike was promised “TV anywhere” and built his whole day around it. What good is getting stuff done, if you miss the good stuff when the channel can’t deliver. Being let down, Mike now has a huge amount of C.W.A.P.

She was told “TV Anywhere” but to Big Cable, Canada is “nowhere.”

Jenny

International traveler

Jenny often travels with her family to her vacation cabin in Regina, Canada. Yes, it’s a real place. We couldn’t believe it either-click here for the map. Jenny’s three young children are not obnoxious; they’re rambunctious. And when it’s a rainy day in Regina, Jenny needs to keep the little darlings occupied.

She launched her big cable company’s app, the one she pays for monthly, only to discover that they don’t stream outside the U.S. Not even in the beaver capital of the Great White North! Now Jenny has the C.W.A.P. and her kids are starting to get it too. What the heck is she supposed to do now?
